W.O. Hair Washing

There is a new trend of hair washing now.  It's called the "W.O. Method" or Water Only Hair Care.  Before going all natural, I was already using baking soda and acv (apple cider vinegar) for my hair.  I am not going to post about the "no-poo method", as there are already hundreds of posts about going shampoo free.  The W.O. Method is essentially only using water to wash your hair.  A few GREAT posts explaining what this is, and what it's all about are: The Water Only Method, Water-Only Hair Washing, and I do not wash my hair. Yes, you read that right.

Here is my experience.
When I starting researching and found about out not washing your hair with anything but water!  I was eager to get started and try it out.  I read that it wasn't for everyone and you may not always feel "clean".  It's true.  It was not for me.  I made it 6 days, almost a whole week!  But it was a week of bad hair days.  I am in high school and hats, head scarves, or thick headbands weren't going to cut it for the transition period.  My hair had fly-aways.  My hair did look like I never washed it.  On the last day of the experiment my hair was side-parted and in its natural curls.  It looked great!.. But my roots were quite weighed down.  It had looked like I sat in the rain for awhile, the wet, frizzy, gross look.

I would definitely say.. I did not put in all the time I needed to.  My hair is naturally very oily, if your hair is more on the dry side of things I would consider this!  This method didn't damage my hair, cause any sort of breakage or "disaster".  If anything my hair got a break!  In the end, if I would have been able to stick with this any longer I would have.  The first two or three days I would say things were going well.  But after that my hair would always be up by the time the day got over.  Notice: This method did not work for me, that does not mean it will not work for you.  Try it! I learned new things about my hair and I wouldn't "un-do" anything.  Good Luck!

iTunes Album Cover

On iTunes if there is no album cover photo you can add one! It would always bug me when there were only three photos and the rest were just grey.. you can add your own photos on your mac or pc, or replace current photos:

1. Pick out the different photos you would like to use, and place them on your desktop for easy retrieval.
2. Have the "Albums" tab open in iTunes.
3. Click command 'I' (for macs, pc - control 'I') this opens up Info.
4. It will most likely ask if you want to edit information for multiple items. Click "Yes".
5. Drag the photo you would like to use into the "artwork" box.
6. Click "OK" at the bottom of the window.

The picture you chose should now be  the album cover!

Skin Care Tips

For starters I have acne and it isn't very bad at all but it bothers me so much.  I have read many many things about healing it, prevention, and dealing with it.  From trial, error, and the amazing Skin Therapy Studio I go to.  The lady that works on my face has taught my mom and I so much.  This is where I would love to tell you some tips I learned.
Have you ever had a pimple, blemish, that is inflamed and red? The best cure is to ice it for two minutes.  You ice swelling, injuries, and soreness right?  I've tried this and it really does work.  Or if you even have a pimple close to the surface you can feel, ice it often and you can even prevent it.  Or.. if its too late and it has erupted from your skin, make it heal a lot faster.  So twice a day ice inflammation and make your skin heal from acne faster.  Try it.  Ice is cheap, you can make it, takes 2 minutes twice a day, and what have you got to loose? Really?!
Also to help acne heal don't pick your face!  I know its really hard. Sometimes I still do but its really worth it! The more you pick the longer it takes acne to clear, it spreads bacteria, and can cause scarring.. plus it makes you feel worse about your skin.
Lastly, you really are what you eat.. so to have clear skin is to eat a healthy diet.  Life isn't all about sugar, fat, and salt, the modern world is circling us around these 3 food types.  So eat healthier, drink more water (6-8 glasses daily), and exercise.  Most acne is hereditary, but that doesn't mean you cannot help it go away sooner!  Lastly take additional vitamins to stay healthy and give you what you need.
I'm not a skin care specialist but these tips have really helped.  Thanks for checking this out!
